August Newsletter

Hello Everyone,

I am really excited to represent Post 37 members and its patrons.  We are looking forward to a great year.

Bob Schmidt passed away in July. He was a very nice man and a regular patron. We will miss him. Frazier who was at the Comfort House, passed away and our thoughts prayers are with him and Darla. Also, our take charge gal in the kitchen, Jo Ganser has had by-pass surgery. Sometimes it’s hard to realize how much someone does until they are not there. Barbara Kelly is also very ill and is hospitalized and our prayers are with her. We wish them both a speedy recovery!

It's that time of the year to remember our support through renewed membership. So when you have a chance, please mail your renewal or drop it by the Post. If Randy or I am present, we will be happy to give you the new card on the spot. It is also through our membership funds that we are able to carry on some things at the Post.

We are very mindful of our obligation to the American Legion Programs and we do support them wholeheartedly. But we are also here to support ourselves. It is our obligation as a nonprofit organization to support the membership through continued activities and events that are exciting and fun-filled. That being said, please come by and support your Post, enjoy a meal, have a drink and socialize with fellow patrons. It is through support that we are to succeed!

For those of you who have not heard, our Clubroom Manager is Barb Speir.  She is excited about her position and has given some thought to future events for our Post. She has recommended we reinstate Sunday dances and the General Membership meeting gave it a thumbs-up. The dances will start August 8th from 3-7 PM and 1/2 pound sirloin burgers will be served from Noon-4 PM. Please support this event and spread the word. Come by and see Barb at the Post, she is very easy to talk to and would welcome your suggestions.

Remember:  It is through support that we are to succeed!

God bless our troops in harms way and keep them in our prayers.
