February Newsletter
Hi All!
We had a very busy and successful January with our raffles, dinners and special steak dinner fundraiser of the year doing very well. It takes a lot of hard work to host all these events and you are very much appreciated.
Some of the Freddy Gonzalez Nursing Home residents joined us for our Saturday, January 21st, afternoon dance. It was very heartwarming to see them enjoying the music, some even dancing and partaking in our dinner. The beverages were provided by the Auxiliary. Thanks to Trish and Randy Howell for making the arrangements for this wonderful event.
February will be another fun filled month of events. Super Bowl Sunday, February 5th, the Auxiliary will have their famous $1.00 Grab bags and also raffle tickets available for a football basket of goodies. Come and join us for a "super" Super Bowl time. We also will have a large Valentines basket filled with goodies to be raffled off on Valentines Day, February 14th.
Dea Cowgill & crew will be serving beef stew on Mondays, 5:00-7:30pm. Vikki & crew will be serving tacos, chalupas and taco salads Wednesdays 5:00-7:00pm. See the calendar for our Friday nights joint dinner menu.
Our membership is now at 124 and we only need 12 more members to make our 100% goal. If you haven't paid your 2012 dues by now you have lost all membership benefits. We thank all that have renewed for 2012 as it is through your membership that we are able to achieve our goals.
District Sergeant at Arms, will be our Assistant Sergeant at Arms for the remaining season. Thank you Joni.
Please remember we need donated items for the care packages we will be sending to our troops in Afghanistan. The donation box and list of items is located in the Post lounge.
We will be hosting the 15th District Spring Convention April 13th, 14th and 15th. We will need a lot of help and co-operation in coordinating this Convention and will keep you informed on upcoming meetings.
Our next Executive meeting will be Monday, February 6th, at 6:30pm. Our General meeting will be Saturday, February 11th, at 10:30pm.

Q: I am related to someone who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibilty dates. Can I join the Auxiliary of The American Legion?
A: If your relative who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibility dates and is a member of The American Legion, you may join the American Legion Auxiliary of The American Legion.
However, if the qualifying veteran is deceased you may join the appropriate organization, even if the qualifying veteran was not a member of The American Legion when living.
Contact your local American Legion Auxiliary Unit, complete the application and proudly join the AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY.
