March Newsletter

Greetings Ladies,

    Membership:  Ladies we are getting very close to making our goal, we now have 148 and we need just 21 more renewal or new members. Renew your membership and or sign up a new member - do not forget those new grandbabies.

    On February 15th President's Day, the Legion and the SAL had a flag retirement ceremony that was very special. You will not want to miss the next one.

    Our Valentine party at the VA Nursing Home was a good time for all. Thank You Trish and Randy Howell, Louise and Harry Brunelle, Aida Castillo and Ellen Hawley for all your help.

    Saturday February 20th we had 13 Guests at our dance from the VA Nursing Home. They had such a good time listening to the music and dancing too. They asked if they could come again. Thanks to all members who welcomed them.

    Our Spring Convention is at Port Isabel March 5th, 6th and 7th. Please join us.

    Auxiliary Executive Meeting will be Tuesday, March 9th at 6:30pm.

    Next Regular meeting is Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:30 am - we hope you can join us. Do not forget that we will be serving our hamburgers after the Meeting and during the dance - join us.

Q: I am related to someone who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibilty dates. Can I join the Auxiliary of The American Legion?


A: If your relative who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibility dates and is a member of The American Legion, you may join the American Legion Auxiliary of The American Legion.


However, if the qualifying veteran is deceased you may join the appropriate organization, even if the qualifying veteran was not a member of The American Legion when living.


Contact your local American Legion Auxiliary Unit, complete the application and proudly join the AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY.
